As Vice-President Wireless, Valerie Layan is responsible for defining and implementing Colt’s wireless strategy. Prior to joining Colt she was VP for the EMEA Wireless Business within Alcatel-Lucent.

Valerie brings a long-standing experience in all aspects of the mobile ecosystem. Beginning her career in Nortel Networks as a development engineer for Mobile technologies, she witnessed the birth of GSM and its evolution into a global telecommunications success.

Throughout various key positions in R&D, field operations, 2G/3G product support, Marketing and sales, Valerie has actively contributed to the adoption and successful implementation of GSM, UMTS, HSPA in various countries. In her past role she did facilitate the interactions between the players that compose the Mobile ecosystem and its evolution towards LTE, helping regulators create fair and sustainable policies.
